About Personal Concern!

Past experience is always helpful. But we have had lots of first time trekkers in our groups. If you are healthy and good level of physical fitness, you can definitely do our trip as our experienced staffs will take good care of you on the trek.

There is no age limit to join our trek as long as you are physically fit and strongly determined! We have successfully guided families with small kids as young as 6 years up to the Everest Base Camp. We have also guided many guests who were above seventy. However for the families, we generally suggest to plan private trek with few spare days in Kathmandu. Please contact us for further detail.

Nepal is absolutely safe for solo female traveler, because people are very friendly and welcoming for foreign visitors. Our team also committed for the safety of our guest both Male and Female during the trek. You can also feel safe at the guest houses. Because we only use guest houses which we know for long time and are safe and trustable.

About Payment and Extra Cost

Remainder of the money, you can pay upon your arrival in Kathmandu. Although our trip price is in US Dollar, we accept all major currencies. You can pay the sum with a credit card. Please kindly note, there will be 5% extra charge for credit card payments, So it’s much better to pay in cash.

In City, Bigger hotels, restaurants and bigger souvenir shops are generally except credit cards, however they charge certain percent extra on card payments. But small shops and local restaurants are only except cash. Those shops and guest houses in mountain also don’t except credit card and only except Rupees. So make sure you will have enough cash for the trek. You can easily exchange Rupees at Money Exchange and there are also plenty of ATMs in Kathmandu where you can withdraw Rupees on fairly good exchange rate. While using ATMS, local Banks charge  500 Rupees (Approximately 5 USD) as a service fee in each transaction. Depending on the Bank, some ATMs allow you to withdraw up to 35000 Nepalese Rupees in one attempt. We suggest you to withdraw maximum amount so that you don’t have to pay Bank fee more.

All of our trekking package covers meal, accommodation, transportation, necessary entry permits and staff fees. However lunch and dinner in Kathmandu and personal expenses during the trip is not cover. Hot shower, charging electrical devices, water, snacks, and drinks are your personal expenses during the trek. Tips to the staffs and donation to temple and monasteries are also a part of your personal expenses. Around $30-$35 is well enough to cover all of your personal expenses including tips. If you decide to charter helicopter in case of your Domestic flight cancellation, then please manage some extra funds either in cash or on a credit card.

We can arrange hotel for additional cost in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Please inform us your exact plan so that we can arrange everything as per your requirements.

We suggest you to start hiking or long walk at least once a week 10-12 weeks prior to trek. Carrying your day bag, you should walk for 5-6 hours ups and down to improve your strength. Please kindly note you may have to share a room on those places where limited number of tea houses are available. Toilets and bathrooms are also shared.
Our Trek packages cover only the meals and don’t cover drinking water. You can buy bottle or boiled water at tea houses. Depending on the elevation, bottle water cost from 1USD to 4USD, So it is great idea to treat the local water either with chlorine/iodine tablets or to use a Steripen. You can fill the water at tea houses for free. If you treat well then you can even try spring water coming from Himalaya.

We offer typical Nepali meal as well as continental, Tibeten and Indian meal at tea houses. The menu of tea houses include traditional Nepali Dal Bhat set which consists rice, lentil soup , pickle and vegetable curry. Other meals available are toast, boiled eggs, pancake, omelets, local bread, fried rice, Fried noodle (Chow mein), fried potato, noodle soup, momo (Nepali Dumpling), vegetarian curries, macaroni and pizza . You can even get meat items, however meat is not fresh and hygienic in the mountain, so We highly recommend to take vegetarian meal. For vegetarian or vegan, do not worry about it, Nepal is such an easy place for vegetarian meal.

Most of the tea houses have electricity and have charging facility in Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu and Langtang region. Normally tea houses have common area to charge electricity devices and charging a device cost you an extra fee of 1$ ~3$ .

Most of the tea houses have power strips with the American outlets. C or D type outlet is also good. You can buy these outlets in Kathmandu for fairly cheaper price.

In these days, most of the tea houses offer Wi-fi for an extra charge. The rate vary as per the elevation and cost from 3$ to 8$. You can also buy local SIM Card and use internet data but network is poor in higher elevation. For the phone call, it will be easy if you buy local SIM card, however you can also use guide’s phone paying the charges whatever comes from your call.

Popular trekking region like Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu and Langtang have western style flush toilets at guest houses in lower elevation. Some tea houses in higher elevation have Asian style toilets which consists of ceramic basin on the ground. Almost all the guest houses have shared bathrooms with cold running water. Upon your request, tea houses provide hot shower for extra charge from 4$-6$. At lower elevation, they have gas or solar hot shower where as in higher elevation, they provide bucket of hot water.

There are plenty of tea houses on the way to use bathrooms. In case of urgency, you can go off the trail and enjoy your privacy in nature.

You can buy toilet paper on the trek. However a roll of paper might cost more than 5$ in higher elevation. So it would be good idea to bring some paper for the trek.

Some guest houses have laundry service available and you can also wash some of your clothes during acclimatization days. But It is better to bring enough and wash it upon your return to Kathmandu from the trip.

About Practical Matter

Tipping is customary and appreciated by the staffs in Nepal but it is not mandatory. Tipping is definitely a great way to show your appreciation for the hard work and commitment of Guides and porters to make your successful Trip. We generally suggest tipping same amount to guide and porter and total tipping amount is roughly 10% of the total trip cost divided between guide and porter.

There are no extra charges for solo traveler if you are joining our group treks. We have also fixed price for solo private traveler, So there won’t be anything more than our website’s price.
