Trip Overview

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure with the Bhutan Luxury Tour for 5 Nights and 6 Days. This trip is not just about visiting places – it’s about enjoying the beauty of Bhutan in the most comfortable and special way possible. You will travel through peaceful valleys, see amazing old buildings called dzongs (which are like big forts and temples), and learn about Bhutan’s unique culture and traditions.

What makes this tour really special is the luxury experience. You’ll stay in some of the best 5-star hotels in Bhutan, like Amankora, COMO Uma, and Taj Tashi. These hotels are not just beautiful – they offer delicious food, relaxing spa treatments, and friendly service that will make you feel like royalty.

One of the biggest highlights of the trip is the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. It’s a beautiful temple built on the side of a high cliff. It may take a few hours to hike there, but the view is totally worth it!

This tour is perfect for anyone who wants a peaceful, fun, and relaxing trip. Whether you’re on a family holiday, a honeymoon, or just want to explore a new country in style, Bhutan will welcome you with its warm heart, fresh mountain air, and magical beauty.

Trip Itinerary

Your journey begins as you arrive at Paro International Airport, one of the most scenic airports in the world. A warm welcome awaits you from our friendly local guide, who will assist you with everything you need.

You’ll then enjoy a peaceful drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Along the way, stop to see Tamchog Lhakhang, a small temple with a beautiful iron bridge built by a famous Tibetan saint.

In the evening, take a relaxed walk through the local market and visit the Clock Tower Square, a lively spot in the center of town. Afterward, check into the luxury Taj Tashi hotel (or a similar 5-star hotel) and unwind in comfort. Overnight in Thimphu

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring Thimphu’s major cultural sites. Visit:

  • Buddha Dordenma, a huge golden statue overlooking the city.

  • Memorial Chorten, a place of prayer and devotion.

  • Changangkha Lhakhang, a peaceful hilltop temple.

Later, explore the Folk Heritage Museum, which gives a glimpse into traditional Bhutanese life, and the National Textile Museum, known for its fine handmade fabrics.

End the day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, the grand fortress that houses the government and is used by the king during summer.

Optionally, you may attend a traditional cultural show or try a private meditation session for relaxation. Overnight in Thimphu

Today, you drive to Punakha, once the capital of Bhutan. On the way, stop at Dochula Pass at 3,100 meters. If the weather is clear, you’ll see stunning views of the Himalayan mountains and 108 white chortens (stupas) built in memory of Bhutanese soldiers.

Continue to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Fertility Temple, a fun and spiritually rich place associated with Bhutan’s famous “Divine Madman.”

Later, visit the impressive Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful buildings, located at the meeting point of two rivers.

Check into the elegant COMO Uma Punakha or Dhensa Boutique Resort, where you’ll enjoy luxury and quiet surroundings. Overnight in Punakha

After breakfast, drive back to Paro with a relaxing lunch stop on the way. The road passes through scenic valleys and forested hills.

Back in Paro, visit the National Museum, filled with ancient art and interesting stories. Then, explore the majestic Rinpung Dzong, a fortress with beautiful wooden architecture and rich history.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional hot stone bath, a Bhutanese healing tradition using river stones heated by fire. Later, you may enjoy a cultural dance performance.

Check into your luxury hotel, such as COMO Uma Paro or Amankora Paro, for a restful night. Overnight in Paro

After an early breakfast, begin the hike to Bhutan’s most famous landmark — Tiger’s Nest Monastery, also known as Taktsang. It’s a sacred temple built into the side of a high cliff and holds great spiritual importance.

The hike takes about 2 to 3 hours one way, but the trail is peaceful and filled with beautiful views, forests, and colorful prayer flags. Stop halfway at a small café for tea and snacks before reaching the monastery.

After exploring the temple, return downhill and enjoy a picnic-style luxury lunch. In the evening, relax at your hotel with an optional spa treatment or massage. Overnight in Paro

After breakfast, your guide will take you to Paro International Airport for your flight. You’ll leave with unforgettable memories, peaceful experiences, and the warm spirit of Bhutan in your heart. Tour Ends.

Useful Info

Visa for Bhutan

All international travelers (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives) require a Bhutan visa to enter the country. But don’t worry—your visa will be completely arranged by us. Once you confirm your booking, just send us a copy of your passport, and we will get the visa clearance letter for you. You’ll need this to board your flight, and the actual visa will be stamped on your passport when you arrive at Paro International Airport.

Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)

Bhutan charges a Daily Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of USD $100 per person per day. This fee helps Bhutan maintain its environment, provide free healthcare and education to its people, and promote responsible tourism. This amount is already included in your tour package, so you won’t have to pay anything extra for it.

Travel Insurance

We strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance before you come to Bhutan. This protects you in case of emergencies like flight delays, baggage loss, or unexpected health problems. Some policies even cover outdoor activities like hiking. It’s a small step for a safe and stress-free journey.

Tiger’s Nest Hike – Fitness Tips

One of the most famous highlights of Bhutan is the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). It takes around 3 to 4 hours round-trip, depending on your pace. The trail is uphill but well-maintained. You’ll walk through peaceful forests with views of the valley. A medium level of fitness is helpful, but you don’t need to be an athlete. Horses are also available to ride halfway if needed. We recommend light hiking shoes, a walking stick, and plenty of water.

Currency & Payments

The local currency is the Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN). Indian Rupees (INR) are also widely accepted. Credit cards are accepted only in some big hotels and shops, so it’s a good idea to carry cash for shopping and small expenses. ATMs are available in Paro and Thimphu, but may not always work with international cards. We suggest exchanging a small amount of money upon arrival.

Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is not mandatory in Bhutan, but it is appreciated as a gesture of gratitude. If you’re happy with your guide and driver, a tip of $10–$15 USD per day for the guide and a smaller amount for the driver is considered polite and generous. Porters and hotel staff also appreciate small tips.

Altitude and Health

Most of the places included in this tour—like Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro—are located at altitudes below 3,100 meters (10,170 feet). That means you’re unlikely to experience serious altitude sickness. However, you may feel shortness of breath while hiking, especially at Tiger’s Nest. Take your time, drink water often, and rest if needed. No special medication is usually required.

Best Time to Visit Bhutan

Bhutan can be visited year-round, but the best seasons for a luxury tour are:

  • Spring (March to May): Warm weather, blooming flowers, clear mountain views, and festivals like Paro Tsechu. Ideal for nature lovers.
  • Autumn (September to November): Clear skies, cool weather, and major festivals like Thimphu Tsechu. Perfect for photography and hiking.
  • Winter (December to February): Fewer tourists and beautiful snow-capped landscapes in higher regions. Punakha remains warm and lovely.
  • Monsoon (June to August): Lush green scenery, but frequent rain and cloudy skies. Less ideal for hiking, but great for peaceful getaways.

We recommend Spring and Autumn for the most comfortable experience and vibrant cultural atmosphere.
