Trip Itinerary

DAY 1    Arrival in Kathmandu (1,370 metres)

  • Upon arrival at Tribhuwan Intl Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Vista Trek waiting, well in time, to receive you shall welcome you to this land of towering Himalayas. Once reaching your hotel in a car from the airport, all you need to do is check in and enjoy the refreshment served.
  • We then visit the Vista Trek office for discussion on tour, Passport collection and handing over the document  and settlement of dues if any. Since you will still have some time left for a walk around Thamel, you can do so if you please.

DAY 2   Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

  • After breakfast start out cultural sightseeing in Kathmandu. First we drive to Swoyambhunath temple, famously known as Monkey temple.
  • We Then we drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the oldest town in Kathmandu which is severly damaged by the last year earthquake.
  • We then drive to Pashupatinath temple to observe cremation process and finally visit Boudhanath Stupa to end our trip .
  • Overnight stay at Hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 3  Arrival at Paro.

  • Fly from Kathmandu to Paro Airport. Our representative will meet you at Paro Airport and escort you to the hotel.
  • After lunch, visit the National Museum (watch Tower). This museum has a very interesting assortment of costumes, treasures and world-renowned stamps, and will bring alive the history of Bhutan since the 6th century. Visit Paro Dzong (Fort), Headquarter of Paro District. Altitude: 2250 meters.
  • Overnight at Hotel in Paro

Day 4 : Hike to Tiger Nest and drive to Thimphu.

  • After breakfast  Hike to Tiger Nest Temple. Built on the seemingly impossible cliff at a height of 400 meters above the lush valley floor of Paro is one of the most sacred places in Bhutan.  Bothway walking time is approximately five hours if you have a permit to the site. Otherwise, around 3- 4 hours is enough to make round trip to the viewpoint of Tigernest.
  • In the evening drive to Thimphu, 2 hours through winding roads following the Pa-Chu (Paro River) down stream to its confluence with the Wang-Chu (Thimphu River). There are good views of the forests, Rocky Mountains & scattered village on our route. As we enter the Thimphu valley we will pass through Semtokha Dzong built in 1629 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel (The man who unified Bhutan). Now Semtokha houses the language and cultural school where scholars of all the ages study Dzongkha (National Language). Thimphu altitude 2350 m.
  • Overnight at Hotel in Thimpu.

DAY 5 : Full day sightseeing in Thimpu (lots of hike depends on one's interest)

  • In morning visit to Changangkha monastery (Temple), which was built in 12th century, the viewpoint where we can get a birds eye view of the capital Thimphu. Visit the animal sanctuary home of the Takin, The National animal, and then visit the Nunnery, which is NGO in the Kingdom.
  • After lunch, some highlight visits will be the Textile Museum, Folk heritage museum and Bhutanese traditional handmade paper factory. Visit Dechen Phordrang monastic School; visit General Post Office, where you will see the finest stamps of Bhutan and the capital building of Bhutan (Tashi Chhodzong) except after 5 p.m. & holidays.
  • Overnight Stay in Thimpu.

DAY 6 : Morning sightseeing and drive back to Paro.

  • After breakfast, drive to the memorial Chorten (Stupa) built in the memory of His Majesty King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. He is regarded as the father of modern Bhutan. Visit the National Library, which holds ancient Buddhist texts, historical books, and some very famous manuscripts written with gold ink.
  • A three-minute drive to the Traditional Medicine Institute will show you where medicines are prepared from plants, flowers and animal's bones according to ancient practices. Acupuncture is its main discipline. Visit the Art & Painting School, where the students learn the 13 different kinds of Bhutanese Arts. Afternoon free for the last day shopping at Thimphu
  • In the evening drive back to Paro  and overnight at Hotel.

Day 7: Departure from Paro Airport to your onward destination.

  • Depending on your flight time, drop to Paro Airport.
  • Arrival in Kathmandu. Pick up and transfer to the Hotel.
  • Overnight at Hotel in Kathmadu.

DAY 8  Bhaktapur -Nagarkot Sightseeing.

  • After breakfast, drive to Nagarkot for mountain view. In a clear day, you can expect to see long range of Himalayan Panorama including popular Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal, Mt. Langtang, Mt. Jugal , Mt. Gauri Shankar.
  • We then drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square . Bhaktapur is an ancient town of Kathmandu and oldest Durbar Square out of 3 Durbar Square in Kathmandu. This place is famous for Dattatraye Temple, Five Stories Nyatapol Temple, Bhairav Temple and more.
  • Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 09 Departure from Nepal

  • If you have a morning flight, we leave for Tribhuwan Intl Airport early morning in a car arranged by the office.
  • If your flight is in the late afternoon or evening, only your WILL shall dictate your involvement or indulgence as you may please before leaving for Tribhuwan Intl Airport in the vehicle.
