Everest Region Trekking

Nepal is probably the only versatile destination that incorporates the magic of nature along with the soul-touching cultural experiences. As such, Nepal has 8 of the 10 tallest mountains in the world. Out of these remarkable wonders, the Mt. Everest also known as Sagarmatha (8848m) is the highest of all. The mountain is not just an identity of the nation but is a symbol of belief of the entire Nepalese population. Home to the Sherpa ethnic community, the Everest region is the cradle for trekking and other mountaineering activities.

The Everest Region or Solukhumbu region is the eye candy of all other regions in Nepal. The region houses some of the most iconic Himalayas in the world including Cho Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), and Ama Dablam (6856m). Most of these Himalayas are within the confines of the glorious Sagarmatha National Park. The national park is also a UNESCO world heritage site and is a haven for a large number of plants and animals. In terms of natural landmarks, the Everest region is known for numerous attractions besides the mountains. The Gokyo Lakes, Ngozumpa Glacier, Khumbu Glacier, Khumbu Icefall, and passes like Renjo La (5360m), Cho La (5420m), and Kongma La (5535m) are some of the notable inclusions.

Khumbu Valley is the highland region which is worldwide famous for trekking and hiking. Sherpas are the main inhabitants in this region. Villages like Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung, These village best depict the culture and traditions of the Sherpa inhabitants of the region. Likewise, monasteries like Dawa Choeling, Pangboche, and Thame are some of the biggest religious hubs in the region.

There are endless choices for treks and mountaineering in the Everest region. Everest Base Camp Trek, Three Passes Trek, Everest View Trek, and Gokyo Lake Trek are few of such options. Likewise, mountains like the Mt. Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and Cho Oyu (8201m) are popular expedition destinations. Likewise, the region also has a considerable number of peak climbing options from the Island Peak (6189m), Lobuche Peak (6119m), and Kyajo Ri (6186m). Enthusiasts can also opt for Everest Heli tours or skydiving for a different and unique taste of enjoying the Himalayan scenery. The Everest region is best accessed during the months of March-May. This is the beginning of spring which means the weather is much calmer and not too extreme. September to November is best for trekking adventuress as the skies are clearer in these months. The days are longer than the nights. The weather is also temperate so the days are free of rain and the nights are not too chill. The sceneries are the most wonderful during this time.
