Bhutan General Information

'Bhutan' the   Land of Thunder Dragon well known to the world as the  last  Shangri-la.  A small Himalayan  Kingdome, bordered by Tibet, China and India, which  original name was  "Bootan" in the Marco Polo time, now the  Bhutanese called "Druk Yul". It covers  roughly 47,000 square feet of area. It has rare combination of harmony and  accord amidst a  landscape of incredible beauty. An isolated  land from the world and enriched by the  essence of  Mahayana  Buddhism  where  people  follow traditional life style and preserving  un-spoilt  culture and  traditions.  Its remained a  mysterious land  for the  world until the present  king Jigme Singye Wangchuk opened for  tourist in 1974. Her rich Himalayan flora and fauna, dazzling white peaks and lush valleys provide Bhutan’s stunning beauty and aesthetic grandeur. Bhutan has gently opened its doors to the visitors who respect the delicate sensitivities of this pristine land and shares the sacred values of its people.  Bhutanese architectures in Dzongs, buildings and houses are very striking.
